Trigger Points

Created in Illustrator and Photoshop

This is part of an illustration for the book I am working on.  This unfortunate figure will be used to show how a trigger point in a muscle, such as the pectoralis minor shown above, can cause myofascial pain that radiates all the way down the arm to the fingers.

Almost any muscle can develop trigger points, with pain that radiates away in surprising directions and distances.

I decided to use the brush tool in Illustrator and free-draw the figures, instead of using the Pen tool to painstakingly trace my sketch this time, and I like how they are turning out.

A partial skeleton

This is a component of a medical illustration I am working on.  Showing the position of a figure’s bones allows a medical illustrator to accurately place muscles and organs.  Even though this skeleton is not finished, it I think it looks kind of interesting as it is.

Flat foot

Also known as collapsed arch, or pes planus, this condition causes the bones of the feet to re-align.  This diagram shows how the bones look in flat feet.
